MY APPROACH
My name is Sunya, musician, mother, and multidisciplinary artist. I blend music that incorporates world beats, live instrumentals like flute, hand pan, and guitar with mindfulness practices.
It is my mission to utilize music as a tool to help people of all ages slow down and cultivate more spaciousness and presence in our lives. This is a radical act of reclaiming our attention, and directing it where we truly desire.
I’ve created this campaign because I’m finally ready to release my debut album: Cycles of Sound featuring all the music I had made over 13 new moon cycles.
Creating this 13 moon music compilation has been my anchor through some dark times. Acting as my solace, my medicine, and my meditational practice. Every early morning and late night I spent arranging and recording this music, I was showing up for myself and realizing what it meant to love me again, with both dedicated consistency, and grace when things didn’t go as planned.
Each song is 10 minutes. This is very long compared to most songs, that’s why I equate it to more of a meditational journey.
To pair with the album, I am crafting an online portal and app that has a variety of activities and exercises inspired by each moon cycle, consciously weaving music, mindfulness, and creativity into a multi-dimensional experience.
With your help, I can finish the mix and masters, (done by my friends Tyler and Jun over at Altkemist https://www.altkemist.com/) to create meaningful tools for self-discovery and personal growth, and host a beautiful release event to bring this whole vision to life.
Cycle of Sound isn’t just music, it’s a call inward, a resource for people of all ages seeking tools for creativity, mindfulness, and connection in a world that incites fear and denial within the nightmare of colonialism.
This work builds on years of community events, musical performances, mandala art workshops, sound baths, years of training in Creative Depth Work over the past 10 years. I’ve seen firsthand how these practices impact well-being, and embolden people to rise up against a toxic system. Now, I want to share them on a larger scale
