I am Sunya, the Enchanted Songstress, keeper of the Vanishing Marks. I wander the lanes sharing music and small spells of imagination.

Would you like to make a wish upon the waters? Paint your mark upon this scroll and I shall weave a melody to carry your intention where words cannot reach.

When the water fades, your wish will take root in the unseen. Listen closely, and you may hear it echo in the music of the world.

Experience the ancient magic of music to brought to life through the ethereal sounds of flute and handpan. Sunya’s roaming minstrel performances weave together world-inspired melodies through participatory “musical spells” that transport listeners into a realm of wonder and imagination.

Sunya invites fair-goers to participate in enchanting rituals: guiding them to paint a disappearing “wish mark” on her magic water scrolls, attendees gather round and learn of the origin stories of how she attained this magical knowledge in her travels abroad.

Then she proceeds to empower the mark with a special melody on her flute or handpan, the participants envision the wish as they themselves become enchanted by Sunya’s music. With each melody, she enchants the markings, transforming that moment into a living musical vortex, while they watch their mark magically disappear into the ether.

This experience is catered to both a mid size group or smaller family encounters, offering a unique, spontaneous, and heartfelt a moment of enchantment and wonder amid the bustle of the faire.

Technical Needs

Set Up: Water Scroll & Stand, Alternate between playing sets with flute and hand-pan
Set Length: Flexible roaming sets (Approximately 10 min per interaction depending on size of group, larger group could be 15 min)
Performance Style: Acoustic roaming / stationary as needed
Space: Works best in open spacious walkways, shaded gathering areas, or near artisan stalls
